Educational hall
The educational hall is located on the ground floor of our visitor center, and this is where our tour begins. Through the host’s story, you will find out what awaits you here, learn about the history of our place, find out why the House of Tea is an oasis of peace in Špišić Bukovica, history and numerous interesting things about tea and much more.
The educational hall has a capacity of up to 40 people and is equipped and adapted for holding various seminars, educations, small gatherings and the like.


Mini educational trail
The mini educational trail is also located on the ground floor of the main building, and is characterized by decorative artificial grass and 10 mini greenhouses planted with medicinal and aromatic herbs. By touching the leaves of planted plants, you can experience the smell itself, enjoy and relax with the smell of them, but also learn something new and interesting about them themselves on the educational boards. Above the planted aromatic and medicinal plants are pollinators, the most important of which are our bees, which play a major role in pollination.
A museum with a reading room
In the museum with a reading room, we have a large number of books, picture books and encyclopedias suitable for all ages. In addition to tasting tea, you can also relax by reading a book or an educational program played on TV. In the museum with a reading room, we also have two computers where you can learn more about the numerous medicinal plants from the Virovitica-Podravine County through the digital herbarium. In addition to computers, we also have two microscopes where you can look at the smallest details of plants that are completely invisible to the naked eye. In order to experience the maximum pleasure in our center, on the ground floor of the main building we have a chest of teas where you can enjoy the smell of some of the raw materials for making teas.


Souvenir shop
In addition to the educational hall itself, we also have a souvenir shop where you can buy souvenirs that we offer as a souvenir of your visit to our visitor center.
Tea tasting rooms
On the left side of the main building in the outer part, there are six different themed tea tasting rooms connected by an educational path, a children’s playground and a wonderful summer terrace. Each tasting room is dedicated to one of the plants from the Mura-Drava Regional Park and the Natura 2000 area, and thus each tasting room has this name, namely: Dandelion, Mint, Chamomile, Nettle, Linden and Wild Rose. Inside the tasting rooms there is an appropriate area for tea tasting, and as soon as it warms up, you can enjoy it on the terrace in front of each tasting room.
In each of the thematic tasting rooms, you can enjoy the scents of plants, pleasant and relaxing music, some informative information, but also the tea tasting itself to make the experience complete.


Dandelion
Dandelion is a wild, widespread plant. A honey-bearing, edible and medicinal perennial herb. It grows in meadows, pastures, along roads, hedges and arable land. They bloom from early spring to late autumn.
Dandelion tea
All parts of the plant are medicinal and contain milky juice with a bitter taste. The root is used as a tea preparation for poor appetite and digestive problems and to increase bile secretion. It stimulates expectoration, urination and appetite. It is used for problems such as allergies, skin problems, obesity and cellulite. In recent times, the medicinal properties of the root have been investigated for the treatment of cancer. As a powerful diuretic, dandelion leaf and flower are beneficial for the kidneys and urinary organs. The diuretic effect is attributed to the high content of potassium.
Mint
Mint is a herbaceous perennial with a hairy stem. The whole plant has a very refreshing smell. It grows in meadows, in forests, along springs and streams, overgrown with surface water bodies and wetlands. They bloom from June to August.
Mint tea
Mint tea is prepared from the leaves, and it suppresses inflammation, helps with asthma, digestive problems, relieves stress, strengthens immunity, cleans the respiratory tract and accelerates metabolism. Peppermint is characterized by a pleasant menthol smell. Menthol is the main ingredient of essential oil and has a strong bactericidal effect.


Chamomile
Chamomile is one of the medicinal plants that have been used in folk medicine since ancient times. Chamomile stands out for its distinctive smell and distinctive appearance. It is an annual plant that grows all over Croatia on certain soils along the roads. It is increasingly cultivated as a crop. It blooms from May to August.
Chamomile tea
Due to the high content of bioactive and medicinal substances, chamomile has a long tradition in folk medicine where it is known as a “cure for all ailments”. Flower heads are collected for medicinal purposes and used to prepare tea. Only the flower heads are harvested for tea and the whole plant for baths. Drinking chamomile tea regularly helps strengthen the immune system and thus prevents colds with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects.
Nettle
Nettle is a wild perennial plant with inconspicuous flowers, which hides a great potential for preserving human health. It grows along roads, hedges and forest edges. It blooms from June to September. The root, aerial parts of the plant, leaves and seeds are used for medicinal purposes. The roots are collected in spring and autumn, the tops of young twigs with leaves in spring, and the whole stem with flowers all year round.
Nettle tea
Nettles contain a significant amount of chlorophyll, mineral salts (calcium, potassium, phosphorus, iron) and vitamin C, provitamin A and other ingredients that have a positive effect on our body. It affects the metabolism of substances in the body, strengthens immunity, improves circulation, stimulates the secretion of digestive juices and the digestion of fats, acts as a diuretic and antihemorrhagic, and also helps with hay fever.


Linden tree
Linden is a honey-bearing and medicinal plant. It is a deciduous tree with dense crowns that grows up to 25 meters. Linden flowers have a pleasant smell, flowering lasts 2 to 3 weeks, from June to July. It grows along the edges of roads, in forests of holm oak and common hornbeam, parks and tree rows.
Linden tea
Flowers with attached leaves are picked for tea. Linden flower tea is used to treat colds, chronic coughs and respiratory diseases, against diarrhea and spasms, and as a mild sedative. Consuming large amounts of tea can cause heart problems.
Wild Rose
Wild rose is a perennial medicinal, honey-bearing and aromatic plant. It grows along the sunny edges of oak and hornbeam forests, meadows, along fences, borders and roads. They bloom in May and June. The fruits ripen in September and October. The fruit is a red pomegranate, egg-shaped, about 2 cm long, with a high content of vitamins C, B1 and B2, phosphorus and potassium.
Wild rose tea
The fruits of the wild rose are used for tea, which is good for detoxifying the body in case of digestive problems, and because of the richness of vitamins in case of colds. Even just inhaling the intoxicating aroma of tea is thought to produce a measurable calming effect, lower systolic blood pressure, have a positive effect on oxygen saturation and slow breathing.
